We know students struggle with problem-solving, so how do we create routines in our classrooms that empower students to persevere and reason mathematically? This 2-hour virtual session will teach the strategy of 3 Reads based on the book, Routines for Reasoning, by Kelemanik, Lucenta, & Creighton. This routine provides opportunities for students to learn how to reason through word problems and engages students in the Standards of Mathematical Practice. In addition, teachers will collaborate with colleagues from across the state to discussion implementation in their classrooms regardless of the setting. Intended for Grades 3-8 teachers and math instructional coaches.

Who is Eligible? North Carolina certified pre-K through 12th grade teachers who are employed in North Carolina public schools, including charter schools, are eligible to attend NCCAT programs. (This may include school administrators, counselors, library media specialists, lead teachers, and mentors.)
Please check with your principal prior to applying to be sure your travel/substitute teacher costs will be covered by your school.
NCCAT Online NOTICE: As of July 1, 2022, registrants are limited to two (2) NCCAT Online courses per quarter.
What is Provided? NCCAT provides your food, lodging and programming. Teachers and/or their districts are responsible for travel and substitute teacher costs.
