15918 Productive Struggle in the Math Classroom

Authentic problem-solving is a vital part of the math classroom. Encouraging productive struggle can be challenging as students hit roadblocks with problem-solving. This program, based on the work of Sangiovanni, Katt, & Dykema (2020), will show targeted strategies for empowering students to move forward with this challenging work. This book study will explore ways to build students’ math identities, develop quality math tasks, and facilitate moves to assist students in productive struggle. Join NCCAT to engage in this new text and bring these strategies to life in your classroom. This program is intended for math teachers and instructional coaches in grades 2-6.

No classes are being offered at this time for this course.
