16196 Strategies in STEM: Engaging Students in Academic Discourse
Students in the 21st century classroom need multiple opportunities to interact with content and their peers in meaningful and impactful ways. By utilizing academic discourse strategies,educators become facilitators of the curriculum while students increase ownership of their own learning. This Focus Friday session will provide low-prep, easy to use strategies that educators can implement in any lesson to support positive student interactions.Participants will leave with an academic discourse toolkit that will support student discussion, critical thinking, and collaborative learning.
No classes are being offered at this time for this course.

Applying to NCCAT

Who is Eligible? North Carolina certified pre-K through 12th grade teachers who are employed in North Carolina public schools, including charter schools, are eligible to attend NCCAT programs. (This may include school administrators, counselors, library media specialists, lead teachers, and mentors.) 

Please check with your principal prior to applying to be sure your travel/substitute teacher costs will be covered by your school.

NCCAT Online NOTICE: As of July 1, 2022, registrants are limited to two (2) NCCAT Online courses per quarter.

What is Provided? NCCAT provides your food, lodging and programming. Teachers and/or their districts are responsible for travel and substitute teacher costs.

How Do I Know If I've Been Accepted? Once we have received your completed application, we will email notification of your placement status to you as well as your principal/director. To ensure that you receive any and all emails from NCCAT, please add noreply@orbund.com to your email address book.
